Mediacenter
General
Create
- Create in: Enter the path where the frontend should be created. In this example the frontend is provided directly on the internal HD of the NMT.
- Access from NMT over: Enter from where afterwards the frontend on the NMT is started. In our example the Frontend will be started from the internal HARD_DISK of a PCH-110 from the folder UMC.
- Apache compatible?: Enable the hook creates the frontend Apache compatible (index.php instead of index.html), hier das Häkchen gesetzt wird anstatt der index.html eine index.php erzeugt, which can be explained on a web server with mod_php and mod_sqlite.
Read more for the issue "Frontend on a Webserver" here.
Add on
- Area: Choose the starting area. If you choose e.g. "movies" UMC jumps directly to the Movieindex page. By default you'll come to the mainpage.
- Quickfilter: Choose which Quickfilter on clicking the green button on the remote control should be shown.
"genre" for Genre quick filter and "year" for e.g. production year. Erscheinungsdatum.
Skin
Choose the Skin for your frontend.
RSS

Frontend: In the UMC start screen the active RSS-Feed is shown as a marquee.
VDR
Enter your VDR-Streams.

In this "list" words can be added or be removed which are rejected in the file name and improve the scan result!
Test
- Filename: Enter a file name to test how the file looks after the settlement.
- Ergebnis: Here the result is shown after the settlement.
Note: The files on the hard disk are not renamed or are overwrited, it's just for a better scan result on IMDB, OFDB,...
Libs
The libraries are the probably most important and also most extensive section! You must specify the directories in which UMC should search for files.
Add Libs
About the button "Add" a new directory can be added. In our example the files are on the internal HD of the NMT, which we have mapped as network drive "Z:\".
Edit Libs
Now we have the first library and can make various settings:
- Enabled: You can enable and disable Libs by klicking the "Enabled" hook. Die Einstellungsmöglichkeiten werden ebenfalls deaktiviert!
- Name: Here you can enter any library name you want.
- Description: Enter a description to know which files are in this library are included!
- Scan-Directory: Choose another file path!
- Subdirs: include subdirs when scan. If not just the root directory is scanned.
- Scan-Type: Choose after what in the directory should be searched. In our picture is selected "films", because in this directory only files of the file format "Video" are inside! Images and xmls are ignored in this selection!
PCH drive
Enter the path from the NMT to the Scan-Directory (internal HDD, network share,...). In this example our path goes to the internal HDD and can seen in the image below. With a click on the "OK" badge the path is put down below and can be controlled once again!
Here an example from a network path:
Make Moviegroups from directories
To make movie groups from a directory so you have to make a hook by "Moviegroups" and to include subdirectories mark "Subdir".
Add a genre to a directory
About the Point "Genre assignment" a genre or more (by pressing CTRL) to a directory can be added. If the directory has subfolder and you want include them mark "Subdirs".
Libs with images and xmls
Here one more example how a lib with only images and xmls can look like.
Save settings
If all necessary settings were met, you can save by hand or automatically by starting the scan.
