Important advice:
With an update of a new version of UMC you have to delete the content of the „frontend-directory“!!!

If movies/series are identified incorrectly, then you can create "xml-files" for these movies/series. More information about that can be found here: [Movie].xml and [Series].xml. To add movies to groups you can use [Group].xml, more information here!

You can use the grandiose tool (UMC XML Commander) developed by SmashD. With this "little" handy program it's simple to create movie.xml's, search for covers and so on! Here you can find more about this tool and if you have any problems you can post here

If all the previous steps are completed then we can start the scan.

If there are errors or any crashes you could have a look in the "log"-directory of UMC in the file "UMC.log" to search for the errors!
If all is ok, the scan could take a long time depending on the size of your movie archive, your internet connection and the power of your computer!
Therefore don't cancel the scanning otherwise you have to begin from scratch!

When the scan finishes, the covers and backdrops are store in the "ressources"-directory and can be changed (normally all is fine). More information about covers, backdrops etc....you could find here.

The frontend should also be in this directory! In our example this is "Z:\UMC", direct on the internal harddisk of the NMT. There you can also find the files "umc-scan-results.html" and "umc-scan-results.pdf", with these files you can check missing covers or wrongly identified movies. To get more information about errors of the online search you could look into "BackgroundWorker_x.log".
