Image Files en
From Ultimate Media Collector (UMC) - Wiki
Cover, Poster, Backdrop, Banner (picturefiles)!
In this section we want to explain the usage of the picture files.
There are some options relating to where the picture files are stored.
If you use your own picture files, then these methods should be used:
1) Either the path of the desired picture file is specified in the corresponding <tag> of the Movie/Series/Group.xml
2) The picture files must be stored with the correct name (same as the moviefile!) and the corrosponding "patern" (see Config.xml) in any folder wich must be defined in a Library (Config.xml) with a "special scan-type (1,4,5,6)" or "scan-type 7".
Examples for naming:
"Filmname - 2007[Cover].jpg" or "Filmname - 2007[Backdrop].jpg"
"Seriesname[Banner].jpg" or "Seriesname[Backdrop].jpg"
"Groupname[Cover].jpg" or "Groupname[Backdrop].jpg"
4) The picture files can be stored in the "resources" folder under the UMC-folder (same naming like in section 2). The pictures found online will be stored in this folder too, if no custom picturefiles were found.
This is how the picture files will be searched and stored :
1) The tags of the XMLs (movie, series, group) get higher priority than the [Cover]-named picture files. If the tags are empty or the defined picture files were not found, then the [Cover]-files will be searched.
2) Pattern-files ([Cover],...) next to the movies
3) Pattern-file in special scan-directiries (scan-type)
4) Pattern-file in scan-dir with scan-type 7.
5) Pattern-files in UMC-application-directory
6) Online-search.

If you define custom picture files, becaouse UMC did not find the right pictures, please upload your picture files to themoviedb.org (TMDB). The easiest way to find the movie is to search with the IMDB-ID (expl. tt0133093). If your movie is not listet in the TMDB you can create it. In this case you need to fill in the IMDB-ID, because UMC needs this ID to identify the movie. UMC can now find the right picture files automatically which is good for all users.
